Jase Coubal is a boy who lives life to the fullest, fueled by his love for sports, adventure, and the unwavering support of his family and community. Whether he’s cheering on his favorite teams—the Minnesota Timberwolves and Vikings—playing baseball and basketball, or racing Hot Wheels and monster trucks at home, Jase embraces every moment with enthusiasm. In the winter, you’ll find him sledding and riding his snowmobile, and when the warmer months arrive, he’s out biking, camping, and tearing up the trails on his ATV.
Jase’s sense of adventure doesn’t stop there. He has already visited Hawaii and explored 17 National Parks, creating unforgettable memories along the way. He also has a taste for the best things in life—arcade games, bowling, Nutella, corn dogs, and his absolute favorite: Mac and Cheese pizza from Pizza Ranch. Whether he’s riding bikes that end with ice cream stops or spending time with his dog, Kevin, and his bunnies, Alfred and Lucy, Jase brings joy to those around him.
Surrounded by Love
Jase is part of a big, loving family that includes his three older siblings—Jack (14), Ryland (12), and Charlee (9)—who are always by his side. With grandparents, aunts, uncles, and 10 cousins, family gatherings are always filled with love and laughter. Beyond his immediate family, Jase has an incredible network of support—from neighbors and sports families to his parents’ co-workers and the wider community, all rallying behind him with encouragement and love.
A Journey of Strength
Jase’s journey took an unexpected turn in November 2024 when what seemed like a snowball injury led to persistent dizziness, fatigue, and nausea. Initially suspected to be a concussion, his symptoms worsened, and a visit to the pediatrician quickly turned into a trip to the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis ER. There, a CT scan revealed a tumor, and the next morning, an MRI confirmed the diagnosis—DIPG.
Despite the overwhelming news, Jase faced every step of his treatment with remarkable strength and resilience. A ventricular drain was placed to relieve pressure in his brain, followed by a biopsy. He then underwent 30 rounds of radiation treatment, which successfully shrunk the tumor and eliminated all of his symptoms, allowing him to return to his spunky, energetic self. Today, Jase is part of a clinical trial at Children’s Minneapolis, where his family remains hopeful that new treatments will lead to even more progress.
Living Life to the Fullest
Through it all, Jase continues to embrace every opportunity for joy, adventure, and laughter. His story is one of courage, determination, and unwavering hope, reminding everyone who knows him that even in the face of life’s toughest battles, joy can still shine through. As he takes on this journey, he is surrounded by a powerful community of love and support, all cheering him on every step of the way.
Jase is not just fighting—he is living, thriving, and inspiring others to do the same.
