Diagnosed: February, 2023

Logan Maverick Frigeni, a bright and adventurous 9-year-old from Elgin, IL, brought boundless energy and joy to everyone around him. Before his diagnosis, Logan was always on the move—spending his days outdoors, playing sports like soccer, basketball, and volleyball, and filling every moment with his love of adventure. He had a playful spirit, often making his friends laugh with his goofy sense of humor and silly antics. Passionate about Pokémon, Fortnite, and video games, he loved sharing these interests with friends, bringing his humor and warmth into every interaction.

In February, Logan’s journey took a difficult turn when he was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). His initial symptoms—dizziness and nausea—soon progressed to vision challenges and weakness on his left side, which made it hard for him to walk or stand independently. Despite the physical limitations he faced, Logan’s spirit remained resilient. He bravely faced 30 radiation treatments, regular lab work, a clinical drug trial, and hospital stays, showing incredible courage through it all.

Logan’s transition from an active lifestyle to relying on a wheelchair was challenging, yet he met these changes with the same spunk and resilience that defined him. Though the diagnosis brought physical changes that made him self-conscious, Logan continued to be an inspiration, embracing life with his family and friends as much as possible.

A student in the fourth grade at St. Mary Catholic School in Elgin, Logan was known as a fearless, fun-loving friend. He had a big heart and a generous spirit, always ready to give a hug or share a laugh. Logan loved traveling with his family and had a passion for new experiences, from shark tooth hunting in Florida to surfing in Hawaii. He was curious, creative, and clever, enjoying activities like building Legos, drawing, reading, and writing stories.

Logan passed away on December 2, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and joy. He will be remembered as a smart, spontaneous, and loving young boy who was truly one of a kind. Logan’s memory lives on in the hearts of his parents, Marco Frigeni, Roberta Suda and his big brother Wyatt.
