Malachi Yoder was a strong young man that had a fierce love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He cared for others and strived to be a light to everyone he came into contact with throughout his short life here in earth.
Malachi was passionate whether about Jesus Christ, baseball and football, hanging with his friends, or fighting an incurable cancer. His verse he held to was, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
Malachi was a great big brother for 12 years to his two little sisters, and then for two years, a big brother to his four adopted siblings. He strived to be an example to not only them but to his friends, his school, and his community. He was a living example for his church youth group and, in his passing, left a legacy that many hold to still.
Malachi fought for 14 months after his diagnosis with DIPG, bringing awareness of this terrible childhood cancer to everyone he met. He fought it bravely even knowing such an outcome, such as death at only 14 years old.
He was and is loved by all that knew him, and even in our sorrow we hold tight knowing he is healed and waiting for the rest of his loved ones next to his Savior, Jesus Christ.
“You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
