Crystal Krug
November 12, 2000 – November 8, 2011
Crystal Krug was one of the most loving and caring children there ever was. While being fairly bashful, she was never without a huge smile on her face. She was an amazing student, enthusiastic soccer player, and had a sense of creativity that came out when she was drawing. Showing her love for the world, she signed each drawing with a simple reminder “Peace. Love. Joy.”
At the age of 9, Crystal began to experience dizziness amongst other symptoms. She was transported to Children’s National Health System in Washington DC to undergo tests and imaging. At this time Crystal was diagnosed with DIPG. Crystal received conventional treatment and a trial treatment at Children’s. Never a quitter, Crystal and her family also traveled near and far for alternative treatments. Throughout all of the frustrating treatments Crystal stayed up-beat and never let her trademark smile fade. Unfortunately, Crystal lost her battle with DIPG, however everyone that ever met her considers themselves extremely lucky to have spent time with her (no matter how short that time may have been).
Her family and friends continue to miss her, but will never forget her.
