January 24, 2011 – April 5, 2018
Diagnosed: January 18, 2017
Hunter Jones had a huge heart, an old soul, and wanted nothing more than to be a dad when he grew up.
In 2016, during the Christmas Holiday, Hunter’s parents noticed he was struggling with the vision in his right eye. After a week with no improvement, his pediatrician referred him to a pediatric ophthalmologist, who ordered an MRI to rule out anything serious. Sadly the results from the MRI revealed the worst — just six days before Hunter’s 6th birthday he was diagnosed with DIPG.
After undergoing 30 rounds of radiation and a series of intra-arterial (IA) treatments, Hunter passed away on April 5th, 2018, just 15 months after his diagnosis.
“Hunter fought DIPG in the way that he had always lived and taught us so many life lessons along the way. Hunter fought with love, care, bravery, kindness, grace and tenderness.” — Krista Jones
