Advancing the Fight Against Childhood Brain Cancer
Along with the Chad Carr Pediatric Brain Tumor Center at Michigan Medicine, we are excited to host the 3rd Annual ChadTough Defeat DIPG Research Workshop on May 9-10, 2025, in Ann Arbor, MI. This two-day event will unite DIPG and DMG researchers from across the globe, creating an extraordinary opportunity for collaboration among the brightest minds in the field of childhood brain cancer research.
This year’s workshop will feature a keynote address by Dr. Suzanne Baker of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a pioneer in childhood brain cancer research. It will also feature a Poster Session showcasing some of the research we, along with our Family and Research Partners, have funded. The event is designed to facilitate deep discussions and foster new ideas, with the ultimate goal of accelerating progress toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
“We think it is critically important to get the leading DIPG/DMG researchers in the same room talking about ways they can work together to find a cure more quickly,” said ChadTough Defeat DIPG co-founder Mark Mosier, reflecting on the impact of previous workshops. “These events help create new collaborations between researchers who haven’t worked together before, and we are optimistic that these relationships will lead to breakthroughs.”
Breakout sessions will provide researchers with opportunities for focused discussions, pushing the field forward by encouraging collaboration and idea-sharing. As Dr. Carl Koschmann shared about last year’s workshop, “These sessions sparked collaborative efforts that will guide research priorities and lay the foundation for future clinical trials.”
We are profoundly thankful to Thomson Reuters for generously providing the space and technical support for this year’s workshop, creating an invaluable opportunity for both emerging researchers and established leaders in the field to come together and collaborate in meaningful ways. We are also grateful to The Kensington Hotel and Even Hotel for their on-going partnership which includes lodging and meeting support, as well.
At the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, we believe the collective efforts of researchers, families, and supporters are essential to transforming the future of childhood brain cancer. This workshop is a vital part of our mission, and we are honored to support the incredible work being done to bring hope to families facing DIPG and DMG. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
