Luke Wyatt Morin spent 5 ½ years on this earth as a happy, kind, playful, active, and articulate little boy; a very loving child with a genuine enthusiasm for life equaled only by his empathy for others. He was always quick to offer hugs and snuggles or an unsolicited compliment or “I love you”. In addition to adoring his big sister Phebe, Luke loved playing with his Hot Wheels cars and building tracks for hours on end. He loved The Beatles and would frequently host impromptu dance parties in his room. Only the last two weeks of Luke’s time here did he suffer. Through it all, he smiled, he laughed, he trusted his family and was very brave.
Luke’ symptoms appeared suddenly…most severe in 72 hours. After two visits and numerous phone calls to the pediatrician, Luke was taken to Children’s Hospital Colorado. On April 8, 2018 Luke’s family received the devastating news that there was an inoperable tumor in his brain called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). After 2 radiation treatments, much struggle, love, hope and a final visit to the PICU, Luke passed away just 17 days later.
