August 9, 2021

Walnut Creek Country Club in South Lyon, Michigan

The Coach Carr Classic coed golf outing is one of the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation’s newer events and is focused on honoring Chad’s Papa, hall of fame coach Lloyd Carr. Guests will enjoy 18 holes of golf, a lunch program, and either light breakfast or a post-golf happy hour. The roughly 180 golfers will be joined by the Carr family, along with some of Coach Carr’s former players and other local celebrities.

*Note: Our highest priority is the health and safety of our supporters and community. We will follow all local health and safety guidelines in place at the time of the event.

Keynote Speaker: Award-winning journalist and author Mitch Albom

Moved by the suffering he witnessed after the devastating Haiti earthquake of 2010, best-selling author Mitch Albom adopted a failing orphanage in the city of Port-au-Prince. There, he met Chika, a bold and curious 5-year-old girl who had developed DIPG — the same form of pediatric brain cancer that Chad Carr and Michael Mosier suffered from. Chika has inspired Mitch and his wife, Janine, to work alongside the Carrs and Mosiers in raising awareness for DIPG.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters, this event is sold out!
