Philomena “Bean” Stendardo

Born: January 22, 2009
Diagnosed: September 15, 2016
Died: July 23, 2017

– Spunky – Faithful – Love –

Mom, Mina, remembers: “Philomena was a spunky little firecracker who saw joy in everything and everyone she encountered. She had the ability to walk herself into the heart of everyone she met, without exception.”

Mom (Mina) – along with dad (Mark) and big brother, Marky – want to share Philomena’s story because “as a parent, one of my greatest fears is that the world will forget her.”

Philomena “Bean” Stendardo was an 8‐year‐old child of God. Philomena was a one of a kind, spunky little firecracker, who had the gift of joy which allowed her to walk herself into the heart of everyone she met, without exception. She was an exceptional athlete and mastered every sport she participated in. She loved going to school and playing with friends and family. She was always focused, not only did she want to be the best at everything she did, she absolutely was the best at everything she did, especially as her role of little sister to Marky, who she loves more than any of us.

On September 15, 2016, at the age of 7, Philomena was diagnosed with DIPG, she lost her battle to this uniformly fatal disease just 10 months later, on July 23, 2017. During Bean’s short life she reached countless individuals and taught them to bring their faith to the forefront and ban together in prayer.
